Our architecture studio was commissioned to design a stunning modern family home in a plot with a significant slope, located in the picturesque coastal town of Sitges, Barcelona. The house was conceived as a summer residence, with the goal of maximizing outdoor living and ensuring that every level of the house connects seamlessly with its surrounding landscape.

The design of this contemporary villa focused on creating terraced spaces that would adapt to the steep slope of the plot, offering the homeowners stunning views of the surrounding Mediterranean landscape. A key challenge for the residential design was to incorporate a garage underground, rather than at the street level, which is a more typical approach. This innovative solution allowed the rest of the house to have unobstructed views of the garden and the sea, ensuring a better connection to the outdoor spaces.
We carefully crafted the interior architecture of all three floors, with special attention to maximizing the use of space while ensuring a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor areas. On the upper floor, the daytime living spaces—including the entrance, kitchen, dining area, and lounge—were designed to flow together. These spaces open directly onto a large rooftop terrace, which serves as a continuation of the home’s outdoor living areas, offering expansive views of the Mediterranean.
Inspired by the Mediterranean lifestyle, the design prioritizes natural light and open, fluid spaces. The clients expressed a desire for dynamic and flexible living areas that could adapt to both everyday family life and social gatherings. The design of the kitchen, which is centrally located and directly connected to the dining and living areas, was particularly important to the homeowners.
Natural materials such as marble and solid oak were used throughout the home to create a warm, inviting atmosphere. A fireplace in the lounge adds to the cozy ambiance, while large windows and glass doors open towards the garden, ensuring an uninterrupted flow of natural light and beautiful views of the outdoor spaces and the sea.
