Our architects office in Sitges (Barcelona) was commissioned to renovate an old property for a couple from Madrid. The property was outdated, with both its layout and facilities needing a complete overhaul. The renovation project began with the complete removal of previous trace, and the design focused on creating two distinct living areas. First, a spacious living-dining room with an open kitchen, where the kitchen and dining spaces are seamlessly integrated, offering a large and inviting area for family and social gatherings. The separation between these zones is minimal, with an entrance hallway acting as a central connection point between both areas.
The main room is situated separately from the rest of the house and is cleverly isolated using a large sliding door. This design allows for easy separation between the bedroom, bathroom, and work areas when desired, but also reinforces the open-plan feel when the spaces are connected. The walls of the house are finished with lacquered wood paneling, continuing from the kitchen through to the bedroom, creating a clean, minimalist aesthetic. The guest room and guest bathroom doors are discreetly integrated into the paneling for a harmonious and neutral look.
Custom-made furniture such as oak cabinets and shelves reflect the modern, contemporary design. Our architects carefully selected furniture for both the interior and exterior in collaboration with the property owners to ensure a cohesive, timeless aesthetic. A standout feature is the large, open breakfast bar with a Silestone countertop, which serves as a functional and stylish centerpiece in the heart of the home.
